Notes Hybrid (Devolved 2006 - Museum was located in Malmesbury Town Hall upon its foundation in 1931. In 1974 the museum came under the control of North Wiltshire District Council and moved to Gloucester Street. When that premises was deemed unsafe the museum was moved back to the Town Hall in 1979. In 2006 North Wiltshire District Council relinquished control of the museum. Now operated by Friends of Athelstan Museum).
