The Bunker at Hatfield Police Station |
Notes |
Housed in the basement of Hatfield Police Station, a 1930 Art Deco building that was originally constructed as the new Headquarters of the de Havilland Aircraft Company when they moved to Hatfield from their original factory site. The Museum tells the story of the Company through over 60 years at Hatfield and also describes the work of Hertfordshire Constabulary as the building's current occupants. The Museum was originally financed jointly between the budget of Hatfield Police Station and a grant from the Herts Police Sports and Social Club, the split being roughly equal. Visits are by prior appointment only, by request of the Police. |
